LLA Visits House Speaker Pelosi in D.C.

In October 2007, LLA students met with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D - San Francisco) to discuss ways that legislators can increase support for students struggling with violence in their schools. Specifically, LLA students discussed what is needed to create a school-wide culture of nonviolence. Pelosi encouraged the students to continue to build on their successes and to share their practices with others.

Life Learning Academy Students

Thank you for visiting the Life Learning Academy website!

Whether you are a student, a parent, an educator, a member of our support network, or simply a friend, we hope you find the site both informative and inspirational.

For the past ten years, LLA’s innovative, project-based teaching strategies have earned national recognition for their creativity and effectiveness. These unique lessons combine academic disciplines with real-world vocational skills to fully engage students. By combining subjects like Geometry and Bike Mechanics, LLA’s classes require students to become more versatile, practical, thoughtful, and effective at complex problem-solving. We are excited to offer online access to this curriculum, and encourage teachers to create new models that build on LLA’s successes.

Please return for updates about LLA's activities and achievements, and to download new lessons as they become available.
