In 2007, Life Learning Academy launched a student internship program designed to enhance students’ academic studies with real-world work experience. All LLA students secure internships at various community organizations, businesses and local agencies. Students intern in a variety of employment sectors including health care, hospitality, retail, digital media, information technology and construction.

Students report to their day-long internship every Wednesday. Each internship is chosen to match individual students’ interests, and students meet frequently with their school advisers and workplace mentors to complete assignments, including a final presentation, that record and support their learning goals while helping them reflect about their internship experiences.
